Direct thermal or thermal transfer?
The printer supports both. Direct thermal is fine for temporary labels that are used within days. For pallet, drum and export carton labels that face moisture, heat, handling or long storage, thermal transfer with a suitable wide ribbon (110 to 254 mm) gives far more durable, long-lasting print.
