80mm or 58mm POS printer?
80mm printers are the standard for supershops, pharmacies, restaurants and any counter that prints many bills a day. The wider paper fits item names, VAT lines and your logo. The Thermatek R830 and Thermatek R820 are 80mm printers with both USB and Bluetooth.
58mm printers are smaller and cheaper. They suit small shops, tea stalls, parking and token counters, and mobile billing. See our portable 58mm printers.
What to check before buying
- Print speed: 200–300 mm/s for rush hours; a busy till loses time with a slow printer.
- Connection: USB for Windows billing software; Bluetooth for Android and iPhone POS apps.
- Paper: 80mm printers use 78 mm wide rolls, 58mm printers use 56 mm rolls. Buy matching thermal POS rolls with the printer.
- Software: our printers work with standard POS and billing software on Windows, Android and iOS.
